It seems that Lance Armstrong is still bitter with his former team mate Floyd Landis.

On Sunday, Armstrong responded to a tweet from NYVelocity, by suggesting that Landis is responsible for the lack of TV coverage of cycling in the US.

NYVelocity tweeted the following in reference to an NFL player from the Seattle Seahawks appearing on the sidelines on a bicycle during coverage of a game:

Armstrong subsequently responded:

‘Grey manrod’ is a twitter handle used by Floyd Landis.

In 2010, Landis accused several former team mates, including Armstrong and George Hincapie of using EPO and blood transfusions in the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Based on Landis’s allegations, U.S. Justice Department federal prosecutors led an investigation into possible crimes conducted by Armstrong and the U.S.Postal Service Cycling Team.

Landis subsequently filed a federal whistle-blower lawsuit against Armstrong under the federal False Claims Act. The False Claims Act allows citizens to sue on behalf of the government alleging the government has been defrauded. In the lawsuit, Landis alleged that Armstrong and team managers defrauded the U.S. government when they accepted money from the U.S. Postal Service.

It seems odd that Armstrong would point the finger at Landis for reduced TV coverage of cycling in the US, whilst also seemingly absolving himself of any blame in the situation.
