Vincenzo Nibali is aiming for a second Tour de France win this year, but hasn’t ruled out also trying to win the Giro d’Italia.

The Italian has spoken to La Gazzetta dello Sport and said “The door is not completely closed, although my sights are focused on the Tour.”

Nibali also hopes to have better preparation in advance of the season, than he did last winter. “I don’t want to make the same mistakes as last winter, when I could not train due to various circumstances. Eventually it went well, but it was not ideal.”

The Astana rider also wants to have a successful Spring Classics campaign. “Winning Classics would make my career my career complete. Between Milan-San Remo, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the World Championships I’ve some bills to pay, I’ve missed some opportunities here and there.”
