The organisers of the forthcoming Irish National Road Championships in Wexford have announced the route that will be used for the time-trial which takes place on June 22nd.

The start and finish will be at Johnstown Castle Estate and according to the organisers, “it will make for great viewing opportunities and a safe environment for families.”

The 34-kilometre route for the time-trial is an out-and-back course and will take the riders south from Johnstown Castle Estate to Kilmore Quay on the south Wexford coast. The route has a total ascent of 136.37m and has a maximum elevation of 70.0m. The Para TT course will be on the same route but will be shorter at 27 kilometres. The riders will face a fast first half of the course as they descend towards the coast with a gradual rise to the finish after the turn.

The first Rider will set off at 17.01 and the riders will start in the following order:
H1-H5
C1 – C5
Tandem
Elite Women
Senior Men

A number of the country’s top riders have announced their intention to line up. Amongst those who are set to line up at the Championships are Sam Bennett, Nicolas Roche and Eddie Dunbar. Roche will be hoping to repeat his double from last year when he won gold in both the Time-Trial and Road Race in Kilcullen. The Elite Women’s Race was won by Lydia Boylan with Anna Turvey winning the Elite Women’s Time-Trial.
