Two videos have been posted online showing an incredibly close pass by a motorist pulling a trailer and the subsequent encounter between the driver and the two cyclists.

The incident took place at Chileno Valley Road in Petaluma in Northern California.

In the first video, an oncoming car can be seen approaching the two cyclists who are cycling single-file towards the edge of the road.

However, the oncoming car doesn’t prevent a truck pulling a trailer from overtaking the cyclists at high-speed. The first cyclist in particular was extremely fortunate not to be hit by either the vehicle or trailer which appeared to pass just inches from her.

The videos were posted by YouTube user John Murphy who indicates that they are not his videos but that he is just posting them.

The second video shows the subsequent encounter between the motorist and the two cyclists. The video contains numerous profanities where the motorist defends his manoeuvre saying that he “can’t f***in stop” and that he “honked at you guys and you guys gotta get over.” He then tells the cyclists that they should “get the f**k off the road.”

The motorist then tells the cyclists that they should be using the bike path. When told that there wasn’t actually a bike path, he then tells them “Don’t f***ing ride then.”
