SpeedX have launched what they describe as the world’s first bike with an integrated power meter and they have quickly outpassed their goal on Kickstarter of $50,000. At the time of writing, they had achieved pledges of $228,285 from 62 backers. The bike is available through this link

According to SpeedX, the bike allows you to “Train, track analyze your cycling data like a pro rider. Together with its built-in sensors and GPS, you can live-track your cycling data on the SpeedForce, a 2.2” inch touchscreen cycling computer. Unicorn is the most technologically-advanced, well-rounded road bike you’ve ever seen.”

The bike is available in a range of different specs, with the cheapest option available for $3,199. The early bird offer for the SpeedX Unicorn Di2 is $800 less than the retail price. It includes SpeedForce the integrated power meter, Hyper Carbon frame (incl. VCS), FSA Crankset, Di2 groupset with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and carbon fiber wheels.

On a single-charge, the power meter, lasts 400 hours which is equivalent to 8,000 kilometres. They describe Speedforce as “The first bike computer featuring an Android operating system and 2.2” thickened glass touchscreen, clearly visible under direct sunlight. Even with all these features, the battery life is still amazing – it lasts more than 20 hours.”

They also offer a 7-days no-questions asked return, 30 days exchange and lifetime frame warranty with estimated delivery dates from April 2017.
