Le Samyn took place yesterday in Belgium, and the 201km UCI 1.1 race from Quaregnon to Dour featured finishing laps around Dour and a new sector of cobbles which looked brutal.
Amongst the favourites going into the race were Niki Terpstra and Gianni Meersman (Etixx Quick Step), Kris Boekmans (Lotto Soudal), Bryan Coquard (Team Europcar) and Tyler Farrar (MTN Qhubeka).
It looked like Etixx Quick Step would dominate towards the end, as they blew the race apart. However, as was seen in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad at the weekend, strength in numbers does not automatically result in a win.
