Following on from his retirement last October at the age of 29 following persistent knee problems, Andy Schleck has announced his plans for the future.

He told paperjam.lu about his plans for a bike shop, coffee shop and a museum in Itzig, Luxembourg.

Schleck is planning on opening a concept store in the spring of 2016, and he intends using a renovated barn. It will combine a bike shop, coffee shop and a museum about his career. In addition, he plans on developing a cycling school for children.

“We will of course sell Trek bikes,” said Schleck. “The store will however not only consist of a hallway with bikes. I also want to extend my knowledge and sporting experiences.”

“This store is a bit of a dream,” Schleck admits. “I want to do something for Luxembourg. I know there are many problems in the world, but there are also here. Cycling was my life for many years and I look forward to what this chapter brings to me.”
