Team Sky’s Lars Petter Nordhaug has been linked with a move to the new Irish UCI Pro Continental Aqua Blue team

The 32 year-old Norwegian rider has been with Team Sky for the past two seasons, having previously raced for the team from 2010 to 2012 prior to racing for Blanco Pro Cycling for two seasons.

According to a report on www.tv2.no, Nordhaug had been connected to the new Bahrain-Merida team but sources are now saying that he is heading to the new Irish team.

Amongst Nordhaug’s best results are winning the Tour de Yorkshire overall in 2015, in addition to wins in the 2012 Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal and stage wins in the 2009 Tour of Ireland and the 2014 Arctic Race of Norway.

According to TV2, Nordhaug has refused to comment on his plans for 2017.
