Italian rider Adriano Malori of the Movistar Team is being transferred by air to Pamplona to continue his convalescence with Mutua Navarra at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.

Malori travels today from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Pamplona, Spain in a medically-equipped flight. Working closely with the clinical team responsible for Malori’s treatment in Buenos Aires, the medical staff at the Movistar Team have agreed that he is in excellent condition for the transfer.

He is scheduled to arrive in Spain on Wednesday morning and following his arrival, Malori will be admitted to the Clínica Universidad de Navarra to continue his recovery under expert medical supervision. The clinic is the choice of Mutua Navarra, the body which is managing and coordinating Malori’s convalescence.

Malori had been involved in a high-speed crash at the Tour de San Luis in Argentina last month. He was placed in an induced coma following the crash which happened when he crashed due to a crack in the road.

The 27 year-old suffered multiple fractures due to his fall and he was taken to hospital in San Luis with hospital staff later confirming that he had a “traumatic brain injury”.
