The Salamander Cycle/Stroller operates as both a Dutch style cargo bicycle or a child stroller and transitions between the two instantly and with little effort.
The patented product was launched recently by Wike after five years of development. The bicycle frame is high gloss black on 4130 alloy steel with the ability to upgrade from roller brakes to disc or caliper brakes on the front wheel, or to disc on the back wheel.
The carrier is ABS plastic pod with a choice of two seat heights. All bicycle parts are standard and according to Wike are able to be serviced locally.
The company’s website states that European orders were scheduled to start shipping from their warehouse in Holland in November 2017 and North American orders from their Canadian Factory were scheduled to start on October 1.
