Irish rider Eddie Dunbar has been training with his new Axeon Hagens Berman Cycling Team in California this week and they’ve posted a photo of an encounter they’ve had in Malibu with one of the best-known singers in the world – Justin Bieber.
The young rider from Cork tweeted the photo with the message “Team photo with Justin Bieber in Malibu! @axeonhb #proveit”
Dunbar spent his first year in the professional ranks with the British team NFTO, where he put in some impressive performances including long-range attacks at both the European and World Championships.
The U.S. team that he has signed for are managed by Axel Merckx and Dunbar caught the attention of Merckx’s father Eddy earlier in the season. Merckx senior introduced himself after La Côte Picarde in April after Dunbar had spent over 100 kilometres in a break.
The team have been training over the past number of days in preparation for the forthcoming season in Santa Monica and Malibu where the young Canadian singer lives.
