Paris-Nice finished today and with a handful of riders all within a minute of race leader Geraint Thomas (Team Sky) on GC, it was set to be an exciting finale.

The final climb of the race was Col d’Eze overlooking Nice which could provide a springboard for any riders with GC ambitions and Alberto Contador (Tinkoff) and Richie Porte (BMC Racing) made a brave bid to take the yellow jersey from the Briton.

The final kilometres of the race proved to be very exciting with Thomas under severe pressure. However, despite being dropped on the final climb, the Team Sky rider along with team-mate Sergio Henao closed the gap to Porte and Contador to just about hang on.
