The opening road stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné, from Cluses to Saint-Vulbas took place yesterday and finished with Cofidis rider Nacer Bouhanni outsprinting Lotto Soudal’s Jens Debusschere and Bora-Argon 18’s Sam Bennett as Tinkoff’s Alberto Contador retained the overall race lead.
Inside the final few kilometres, the Katusha team of Alexander Kristoff went head-to-head with Bouhanni’s Cofidis leadout train.
There were clashes of heads between riders of both squads as they neared the finish and this is captured in the onboard footage of the stage from Velon.
At 2’30” in the video, Michael Mørkøv of Katusha can be seen clashing with Christophe Laporte of Cofidis, but fortunately nobody came down in the sprint.
Renshaw got thrown off the Tour for much less.

Shouldering is one thing, but when I saw the headbutt I thought it was a bit much! Surprised there were no penalties there.
