Yesterday’s third stage of the Vuelta took the riders from Mijas to Malaga, and Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) took his first stage win in a Grand Tour in over 2 years with an impressive sprint victory, while Johan Esteban Chaves (Orica-GreenEdge) kept hold of the leader’s red jersey.

This onboard footage produced by Velon includes a pretty nasty crash where it appears that Daniele Bennati (Tinkoff-Saxo) touches the back wheel of Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis).

The crash took place as the riders came off a roundabout with 44 kilometres remaining with a number of other riders also coming down in the fall.

Both Bennati and Bouhanni escaped relatively unhurt though, and Bouhanni would later contest the sprint finish where he was narrowly beaten by Sagan.
