Irish Road Race champion Lydia Boylan has taken a great victory today by winning the fourth and final stage of Setmana Ciclista Valenciana (2.2) in Valencia, finishing ahead of many big names in a star-studded field.

Boylan finished 3″ ahead of Kelly Druyts (Sport Vlaanderen – Etixx) at the finish of the 96-kilometre stage in Valencia with Boylan’s team mate Katie Archibald in third just ahead of former World Road Race champion Giorgia Bronzini (Wiggle High5).

The win also marked the first UCI victory for her Team WNT Pro Cycling team who stepped up to UCI level this season.

29 year-old Boylan has clearly been in good form recently, having taken 6th in the Omnium at the Cali round of Track Cycling World Cup.

Denmark’s Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (Cervélo-Bigla Pro Cycling) held on to win the race overall.
