This weekend will see Ireland’s track cycling team compete in the Hong Kong Velodrome at the final World Cup on the 2015-2016 race calendar.

Racing runs from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th January with riders focusing on three Olympic categories; the Women’s Team Pursuit, Men’s Sprint and the Women’s Keirin, along with the Class 1 bunch races.

On Friday the Women’s Team Pursuit will compete in the qualifying rounds, with newcomer Eimear Moran making her international debut with the squad.

A top eight qualifying time will see them progress to the next round. Also in action on Friday will be Felix English, who has recently returned to track cycling after concentrating on the road for the past few seasons.

Sunday will see the sprinters in action, with Eoin Mullen and Shannon McCurley competing in the Men’s Sprint and Women’s Keirin respectively. Mullen will be aiming for a top 24 result in the 200m qualifiers to progress to the next rounds.

The Hong Kong World Cup runs from 15th-17th January.
