Innsbruck have expressed an interesting in hosting the World Cycling Championships in 2018. In addition to the Austrian city, Colombia have also stated that they would be interested in holding the event.
The Worlds have been held in Austria twice before. In 1987, they were held in Villach and in 2006, Salzburg hosted the event.
The host cities for the next two World Road Championships have already been announced. Doha in Qatar will host the event the event in 2016, whilst Bergen in Norway will be the venue in 2017.
The decision on the winning bid for 2018 is expected to be made in January.
