Japanese rider Fumiyuki Beppu had an unusual tumble at the final stage of the Tour of Poland in Krakow yesterday when he went flying over his handlebars.
The incident happened after the Trek-Segafredo rider rounded the turn on the 25-kilometre time-trial course and was out of the saddle to get back up to speed. His bike seemed to lock up, which sent him over his handlebars.
Fortunately, Beppu was able to get back on his bike and finish the stage, albeit in second-last position. He ended the race in 87th place overall.
Looks like @Fumybeppu crash was caused by a mechanical failure #TourdePologne🇵🇱 pic.twitter.com/kzRjjInkl4
