The battle between Chris Froome and Alberto Contador at the Vuelta a Andalucia continued yesterday on Stage 4 to Alto de Allanadas (La Guardia de Jaén).
After an early break of 5 were brought back on the final climb, Froome attacked after pace setting by his Team Sky team mates. Only Contador was able to follow, but he could only hang on for a few hundred metres before getting dropped. Froome gained enough time on the Spaniard to just about take over the leader’s jersey.
The Vuelta a Andalucia concludes today with the 170-kilometre final stage to Alhaurín de la Torre.
