Team WNT ‏have announced that they have applied for a UCI cycling licence for next season. The British women’s team announced the news in a tweet which read: “The news you’ve all been waiting for Team WNT Cycling UK has applied for a @UCI_cycling licence for the 2017 season!”

Amongst the riders currently on the roster of Team WNT is multiple Irish national champion and current road race title holder Lydia Boylan.

Boylan won the road race title back in Kilcullen in June, beating Eve McCrystal and Fiona Meade to the gold medal. It was her second Irish National Road Race Championship win.

Team WNT are based in Sheffield and were founded in 2014. They have gained significant international experience since being founded and this season they have lined up in races such as Internationale Thüringen Rundfahrt der Frauen, Flanders Diamond Tour, Energiewacht Tour as well as Rás na mBan.

Other riders on the team’s 2016 roster are Sarah Burman, Becca Carter, Corrine Clarke, Natalie Grinczer, Keira McVitty, Bex Rimmington and Hannah Walker.
