In Part I of his interview with inCycle TV, Stephen Roche talks about his work ethic when he was racing in Ireland and his subsequent move to the continent.

Roche also talks about the ’87 Giro, why he felt that he deserved to share team leadership with Roberto Visentini and his subsequent battle with the Italian. Roche goes on to outline that what angered him was when Visentini said he would not work for Roche at the Tour. According to Roche, the Italian said during the Giro, “Well no, Roche will ride for me now, but I’m not going to the Tour, I’m going to the beach.”

Roche then goes on to discuss the Froome-Wiggins difficulties at Team Sky and feels that the Armstrong-Contador rivalry at the 2009 Tour de France was more comparable with his battle with Visentini.
