The following video is an example of very good driving and perfect observation skills. Keep an eye on the annotations throughout the video pointing out the hazards.
Surely the cyclist should have been further out towards the centre of the lane if they intended to make a right turn where they did ?. If they intended to stop/dismount to allow traffic past before turning right which was not the case here then they would have been in the correct position but they didn’t do that. Also better high vis clothing would be a huge visual help to other road users and an extremely important safety measure for the cyclist also. I do a bit of cycling myself and I drive also but you can’t leave it all to the motorist, they are not mind readers, things happen a lot faster when you are driving, some cyclist could do a lot more to insure their safety on the road. Respect & awareness needs to be applied both ways for everyones safety.
Not sure what the purpose of posting this video is. There’s no sound and no annotations. It seems to highlight how not to turn right if you are cycling!
Great driving from the vehicle, however as a cyclist myself, that one needs to learn some road awareness!!!!
Turning left keep to the left
Turning right position yourself in the middle, signal right, and move to the right and turn, arm still outstretched if possible.
Also where is your rear light to help the cars, and a better top in that low light condition.
From the drivers point of view this is how it looks like…. 🙁 https://t.co/etRH0ItpSn
…the question is where traffic goes?
Nice to see that there are actually some considerate motorists still out there. I always leave more than enough room when overtaking cyclists.

. We ride with flashing rear lights. It works. Also thank patient drivers.

Unless you have a death wish.
Driving slowly is hard for a lot of motorists. There aren’t many good examples of it on YouTube, but this is!
