On Friday, Peter Sagan and his Tinkoff team-mates undertook a recon ride of some of the sectors of cobbles that they will face in Paris-Roubaix tomorrow.

Sagan will be hoping to become only the second rider to achieve the Flanders-Roubaix double as World Champion. The only other rider to achieve this feat was Rik van Looy back in 1962.

The riders will face 27 sectors of cobbles over the 257-kilometre race with some rain forecast which could make the race even more treacherous than usual.

Sagan’s best result to-date in the race is 6th in 2014. Lining up alongside Sagan tomorrow will be Oscar Gatto, Adam Blythe, Pavel Brutt, Michael Kolar, Michael Gogl, Juraj Sagan and Nikolay Trusov.

“Shaky but good!” was how neo-pro Michael Gogl described the ride afterwards.
