Today’s seventeenth stage of the Tour de France took the riders from the Swiss capital Berne back into France, to the summit finish of Finhaut-Emosson.

Along the way, the riders had to contend with two Category Three climbs, the First Category climb of the Col de la Forclaz before tackling the final 10.4 kilometre-long climb with an average gradient of 8.4%.

Ilnur Zakarin(Team Katusha) took the stage win ahead of Jarlinson Pantano (IAM Cycling). Behind, Chris Froome and Team Sky countered any attacks to defend his yellow jersey.
