Irish rider Nicolas Roche has been linked with a move to Team Sunweb. The German team are close to an agreement with both Roche and American rider Joe Dombrowski (Team EF Education First-Drapac p/b Cannondale), according to an article on Italian website tuttobiciweb.it.

34 year-old Roche has spent the last two seasons with BMC Racing and prior to that, raced with Team Sky, Tinkoff – Saxo, AG2R La Mondiale, Crédit Agricole and Cofidis. He is currently racing at the Vuelta a España where he lies in 21st place overall.

Also linked with a move to Team Sunweb is young Swiss talent Marc Hirschi, who currently races for Team Sunweb’s development team. The team have previously announced the names of three riders who will join in 2019. Max Kanter and Joris Niewenhuis move up from Team Sunweb Development team with Cees Bol signing from SEG Racing Academy.

The team will see significant changes for 2019 with a number of riders departing including Phil Bauhaus moving to Bahrain-Merida, Simon Geschke moving to BMCCCC, and Lennard Hofstede and Mike Teunissen both signing for Team LottoNL Jumbo. In addition, Roy Curvers is set to retire.
