The first stage of the Tour des Fjords took place in Norway yesterday, and there was a bizarre accident with 29 kilometres remaining, when one of the motorbike marshalls went off the edge of the road.

He fell back onto the road, and this resulted in a bunch crash. About ten riders were taken down in the crash, but thankfully, none were hurt in the accident.

Amongst those taken down in the crash were the Orica-GreenEdge pair of Svein Tuft and Daryl Impey. They chased back on, and Impey managed to take third in the sprint finish, which was won by Alexander Kristoff (Team Katusha).
