Monsieur Marchand celebrated his 103rd birthday in style by climbing up the Col Robert Marchand. The ten kilometer long pass which rises to 911m in the Rhone Alpes was renamed after him in 2011. You may also recognise him as earlier this year he set the world record of super centenarians to complete complete the hour record with a the distance of 26.98km’s.
