We published an article prior to Ghent-Wevelgem about the potential havoc that crosswinds could cause in the race, but we didn’t think it would turn out as badly as it did.
Sunday’s race turned out to be pretty epic. It was great viewing on TV, but incredibly tough for the cyclists. The footage below shows what they had to put up with being blown off the road, and trying to keep the bike upright.
Watching this shows why there were so few finishers in the race.
