Cycling Ireland has entered a full team in this weekend’s UCI Track Cycling World Cup in London. This is the second World Cup on the Track Cycling 2014/15 calendar, with more valuable Olympic qualification points available. Racing begins on Friday with the Men and Women’s Team Pursuit Squads competing, the Men’s Team will have a development focus, with Martyn Irvine concentrating on recovery. It is still uncertain whether he will start in the Men’s Omnium on Saturday. Along with the Omnium, Keirin and Sprint events that Ireland entered in the last World Cup in Mexico, Irish riders will be fielded in the Class 1 additional events that are not World Cup event, the Men’s Points Race, and the Women’s Scratch and Point Races. The World Cup runs from 5th – 7th December.
