Last month in Curitiba, Brazil, Evandro Portela reached a speed of 202 km/h, setting a new World Record for the fastest speed on a bicycle on a public road. To set the record, the Brazilian rode in the slipstream of a Subaru WRX category.

The police from the state of Parana blocked off the road for his record attempt and it took 40-year-old Portela 11 kilometres of cycling to build up to his top speed.

Portela became the first rider to cycle faster than 200 kilometres per hour when he set the record on the road from Curitiba to São José dos Pinhais, beating his previous record of 184 KPH which he set earlier this year.
