Following on from his crash in the neutral zone of Amstel Gold on Sunday, Fabio Felline has provided an update on his injuries sustained from the fall.

The Trek-Segafredo rider somersaulted over his handlebars as the peloton rolled out from the start, and his team later confirmed that the Italian rider had been trying to remove a piece of glass from his tyre, causing his front wheel to lock up.

The Italian rider was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken nose, cuts to his face and the radiologists also found a fracture at the base of the skull.

He has since provided a further update on his condition. Felline outlined on his Facebook page that he hopes oto be back on his bike in three months.

Felline confirmed the skull fracture, the triple fracture of his nasal septum and also that he had broken a finger.
