This video shows the moment when a 26-year-old cyclist in Poland was hit by a train but somehow managed to escape without serious injury.

CCTV footage shows the cyclist passing around the lowered barrier at the level crossing and just as he’s about to cross the tracks, the train passes.

Moments afterwards, the cyclist can then be seen lying on the ground and not moving after the train has passed. A motorist then comes to his aid and called an ambulance.

The man suffered a blow to his head and was taken to his hospital but his injuries were not serious. The video of the incident which took place at a crossing near the southern Polish town of Opole was posted this week, but the incident took place last month.

The cyclist was subsequently fined €125 for ignoring the red light, and the lowered barriers. Blood tests were taken but the cyclist was found to have been sober.

  1. Wait, so getting hit by a train was not punishment enough, they actually fined him too? Now that’s a true “Idiot Tax”!!
