Borut Božič has undergone surgery following his crash at Brabantse Pijl on Wednesday and in a statement from his Bahrain Merida team, they confirmed that the surgery went well and Božič is expected to recover soon.

Božič crashed after about 100 kilometres of the race and broke his right collarbone. He was driven to the Herestraat Leuven Hospital in the company of Team Bahrain Merida Doctor Luca Pollastri. He subsequently underwent surgery at the Orthopedic Department of San Gerardo Hospital.
