Unusual place for a crash on a very straight stretch of road in nice dry conditions. Early speculation is that a rider hit a rumble strip in the middle of the road and went down causing the carnage behind.
This onboard footage from Mike Friedman riding with the North Memorial / GS CIAO Men’s Pro Team captures the tail end of the crash which he was lucky to avoid and shows the trail of broken carbon left in the middle of the road.
