An Post Chain Reaction have named a strong eight-man team for Paris-Troyes this Sunday, 12th March. Bas Tietema (NED), Jacob Scott (GBR), Premislav Kasperkiewicz (POL), Sean MacKinnon (CAN), Jonas Bokeloh (GER) and Massimo Vanderaerden (BEL) will join Irish duo Sean McKenna and Matthew Teggart for the single day contest.
It is nine years since the team have competed in the French road race which sees riders travel south-east of the capital city towards the medieval town of Troyes. The team have been making steady progress at this early stage of the season, with Scott finishing a very respectable ninth place in last weekend’s outing at Wanzeel Koerse-Lede-Wanzele in Belgium.
Despite a few injuries to the squad – Dan Gardner (CAN) with a knee injury and Damien Shaw (IRL) suffering a broken wrist and ribs in training – Team Manager, Kurt Bogaerts is confident about the form of the team and their chances this Sunday:
“I am positive for the weekend. The guys in the team are in fine shape and this should be a good race for us. After recovering from a knee injury, Matthew Teggart had a promising come back race in Belgium last weekend so he is in a good place to be competitive in France. For him now it’s just a case of getting some racing in to his legs and to start being in the mix at results time, but I’m confident that will come. I expect him and Sean to be right in the action on Sunday.” We will go for the win as always but a top three finish would be a good result for us.”
Also competing this weekend for the An Post Chain Reaction team is Conor Hennebry. The 24-year-old joined the team at the end of 2016, making the move from Team AquaBlue. He has been named as the sole An Post representative to line out at Omloop van het Waasland (1.2) in the Belgian region of Waasland this Sunday too.
