Fabio Felline of Trek-Segafredo has been forced out of today’s Amstel Gold after crashing in the neutral zone.
The Italian rider went over his handlebars after his front wheel locked up. He can be seen making some adjustment to his front wheel which caused the wheel to jam.
His team have since confirmed that Felline was trying to remove a small piece of glass from his tyre, which caused the accident.
He was subsequently taken to hospital and his team have since reported that he suffered a broken nose and facial injuries. It is expected that he will be able to leave hospital later today.
Not really clever… Must have stuck his hand in the front wheel during action to remove something from his tire.

UCI must ban arms!!! And front wheels!
Horrible. He couldn’t put his left arm out to protect himself because it was caught in the wheel/fork.
