Nairo Quintana has been training at home in Colombia recently in preparation for the forthcoming Giro d’Italia and he stopped during his training ride yesterday to spend some moments with a 6 year-old blind boy.
The 2014 Giro d’Italia winner stopped to meet Dani, who is a big fan of his, during the cycle in Boyacá, Northern Colombia where he spoke to the boy after the boy’s mother introduced him saying: “this is Nairo, a great champion.”
Dani felt the face of his hero with Nairo telling him that “his father wants to see him grow strong, be a champion too.”
Nairo then gave Dani his pair of mitts as a memento of the occasion with the 6 year-old also getting to touch the Colombian rider’s bike.
