While eight of their team-mates started in the 95th Volta a Catalunya, a second Movistar team roster led by Chente García Acosta and José Luis Jaimerena headed into the French Nord region on Monday to recon the seven sections of cobblestones (a total 13km) included in the 2015 Tour de France’s stage four from Seraing to Cambrai.

Nairo Quintana was amongst those who will have a chance to test himself on one of the main difficulties in this year’s Tour de France before the competition itself.

The Colombian will make further efforts to improve his abilities and experience on cobbles as he takes part in Dwars door Vlaanderen (1.HC, Wednesday 25) and E3 Harelbeke (1.UWT, Friday 27), the start of a long Flemish campaign for the Movistar team over the next two weeks.

They will also make their debut in the Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde in eight days’ time. Fran Ventoso, John Gadret, Jonathan Castroviejo, Imanol Erviti, Andrey Amador, Gorka Izagirre and Adriano Malori will join Quintana in those two races.
