Yorkshire will be making history by hosting the first ever Team Time Trial Mixed Relay with national teams consisting of three male riders and three female riders. The male riders will set off first and the women will replace them on the road as soon as the second male rider has crossed the finish line. Final timings will then be taken when the second female rider crosses the finish line and the fastest team will be declared the winner.
Some of the biggest names in cycling will take part in the inaugural running of the event. Amongst the most recognisable riders set to line up are Lucinda Brand, Amy Pieters, Jos van Emden and Bauke Mollema of the Netherlands, Lisa Brennauer, Nils Pollitt and Tony Martin of Germany, Italy’s Elisa Longo Borghini, Davide Martinelli and Elia Viviani, Vuelta a España sensation Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia, Sofie de Vuyst and Jan Bakelants of Belgium and Spain’s Jonathan Castroviejo.
