The UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling team have announced that both their men’s and women’s teams will ride Orbea frames for the 2017 season.
The men’s team will ride the Orbea Orca OMR while the women’s team will ride the Orca OMP for road races and the Orbea Ordu in time trials. The Orbea frames will be built with Shimano Dura Ace 9001 components and wheels.
Founded in 1931, the Basque company have previously supplied frames to the Euskaltel-Euskadi, Team Novo Nordisk and Cofidis-Solutions Crédits teams, amongst others.
“We share the same healthy lifestyle values as UnitedHealthcare, and are excited to work with an American team who has a global footprint,” Ander Olariaga of Orbea said when asked why they chose to work with UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling.
The team also announced other new partnerships for 2017 including FSA and Vision, who will provide bars, stems, and seat posts. Prologo will supply the team’s saddles and Jakroo will supply the team’s completely redesigned kit for the season.
“Jakroo is a growing company with great products and a culture steeped in racing. Our partnership with UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling will help spread our love of racing to an international audience, and showcase the fit, form, and function of our top level custom products,” said Ben Jacques-Maynes of Jakroo.
