RCS Sport announced today its selection of four wild card teams that will participate at the Giro d’Italia alongside the eighteen eligible WorldTour teams.

Italian teams Androni Giocattoli-Sidermex, Bardiani CSF and Wilier Triestina – Selle Italia alongside Israel Cycling Academy are the four teams offered the wildcard entries. The Giro starts on 4 May in Jerusalem with a 9.7-kilometre individual time trial, followed by two road stages in Israel. The riders will then have a rest day as the race entourage transfers to Italy.

RCS Sport also announced the wildcard entries for three of their other WorldTour races – Strade Bianche, Tirreno-Adriatico and Milano-Sanremo. Il Lombardia wild cards will be announced later in the season.
