The 4th edition of the RideLondon Classic takes place on Sunday, 31 July and Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka are motivated to take on the course made famous for playing host to the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Multiple Irish champion Matt Brammeier has been included in their line-up and is hopeful of a good result from the African team.
This year’s RideLondon Classic sees very few changes to previous editions and riders will be taking on a challenging 200km. A large majority of the route takes place on the narrow roads of the Surrey countryside, which is littered with short sharp undulations. Leith Hill, Ranmore (3 times) and Box Hill will be the main talking points of the route.
Box Hill will be the final climb to be contested and once again it is placed some 50km from the finish. With the race certain to be split into pieces by this point, it will be another fast and exciting chase to the finish at The Mall. Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka take to the start with 6 highly motivated riders, aiming to achieve a podium result.
Steve Cummings, Mark Renshaw, Tyler Farrar, Nic Dougall and Jay Thomson will join Brammeier at the start and if an opportunity arises tomorrow for Cummings, the Brit can be expected to grab it with both hands.
Renshaw and Farrar provide the team with two really good fast finishing options while Brammeier, Dougall and Thomson could slip away with any one of the groups that may go clear in the Surrey countryside.
