Strade Bianche was only run for the first time in 2007, but has quickly established itself as an iconic race.

The 200km route starts in San Gimignano and finishes after a steep climb in the narrow streets of the centre of Siena. The race features ten sections of gravel roads, for a total of over 50km.

Last year’s race was won by Michal Kwiatkowski (Etixx Quick Step) ahead of Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo). Amongst the favourites for this year’s race are Sagan, Zdenek Stybar (Etixx-QuickStep), Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEdge), Sep Vanmarcke (LottoNL-Jumbo) and Fabian Cancellara (Trek Factory Racing).
