Stage 2 of the Tour Down Under took the riders from Unley to Stirling over 150 kilometres.
Jack Bobridge (UniSA) went into the stage as race leader. It was expected that the stage would finish in a smallish bunch sprint as the riders tackled up and down terrain to the east of Adelaide.
