Stage 2 of the Dauphiné Libéré took the riders from Le Bourget-du-Lac to Parc des Oiseaux Villars-les-Dombes covering a distance of 173kms.

Team Sky’s Peter Kennaugh went into the stage as race leader, having won the opening stage of the race on Sunday. Despite having to take in the Cat. 1 climb of the Col de Cuvéry, the stage was expected to finish in a bunch sprint, as the last 50 kms were more or less flat.

The first big shake-up in GC can be expected today, as the riders will race a 24.5km team time-trial from Roanne to Montagny.

Here is a video of the last 9 kilometres of the 2nd stage.
