Irish-based Bopworx have produced a nice promo video for their product range using Stephen Roche’s bike from the 1987 season where he achieved the treble of the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and World Championships.

The company’s products have been developed to protect your bicycle and its surroundings while transporting a bike on a car rack, in a car, in a bike bag/box and even during storage.

In the video which they have entitled ‘$1Million Dollar Bike Drop’, they drop Roche’s Battaglin bike from a height of approximately 30 metres from the top of Blarney Castle in Co. Cork.

The Battaglin which is made from Columbus SLX tubing and has some iconic components such as Campagnolo Delta brakes, is protected using Bopwork products and after the drop, Roche can be seen riding away on the undamaged bike.

Bopworx was founded by Paul and Ciara McGriskin who found that their bikes were getting damaged during transit and that there was no available solution to prevent this damage. So after a number of years going through various revisions of their designs, they developed the final versions of their range including the bike bumper, double bumper, rear derailleur guard and fork guard.
