Last year cycling apparel brand Victory Chimp decided to skip Black Friday and give something back instead. The #VCGiveBackFriday campaign raised funds for charity through sales of a new art print, available only over the Black Friday sales weekend, and happily selling out before it ended. As a result 10 bikes were sent to Malawi via World Bicycle Relief.

This year Victory Chimp want to do even better. From Friday 24 – Monday 27 November, 100% of proceeds from all online print sales will go to charity.

The chosen charity for #VCGiveBackFriday 2017 is Marie Curie. Marie Curie Nurses care and support people living with terminal illness and their families, bringing light in the darkest hours. Instead of making it Black Friday, Victory Chimp want to help bring some light.

“In August of this year, I lost someone very special to me. My Granny, Letty O’Reilly, was massively supportive of my creative work from a young age, with endless love and generosity for our family. When it came time to begin preparations for our annual fundraising effort, I knew I wanted to do something in her memory,”
explained Ryan O’Reilly.

“Marie Curie Nurses provided invaluable support to my family in my Grandmother’s final weeks, so #VCGiveBackFriday was the perfect opportunity to return this kindness by helping other families when they need it most.

“After the overwhelming support in selling out our first fundraising print edition, I wanted to see how much we could help. So if you’re planning to purchase a Victory Chimp print as a gift this Christmas, help us give back by doing it this weekend.”

About Victory Chimp
Victory Chimp creates cycling art, apparel and accessories, dreamed up on the roadside and worked out in the studio.

It’s also the alter-ego of Ryan O’Reilly, a Northern Irish designer, illustrator and bike rider. When not busy at his desk, Ryan would either be scribbling down his own ideas or riding around the country on his bike. When the latter started exerting an overwhelming influence on the former, Victory Chimp was born. One crash and several weeks away from bike and computer later, Ryan had plotted a course to bring together his passions for art, cycling, fashion and the great apes.

Victory Chimp art prints, casual clothing and accessories are designed and hand printed in Northern Ireland using ethically sourced fair wear garments, sustainable paper stocks and water-based inks. Their cycling caps, socks and kit marry the latest Italian fabric technology with Victory Chimp’s unique graphic style to create stylish and durable technical apparel for you to love.
