To mark the start of the Tour de France in Utrecht in a few weeks time, the race organisers held an uphill time trial in the city. They overcame the challenge of hosting an uphill time-trial in a flat city, by holding it in a multi-storey car park.

The event took place in the P+R De Uithof parking garage, and the fastest rider reached the top in a time of 1:10.

The Tour starts in the Dutch city with a 13.8km prologue on the 4th of July, followed by a 166-km stage to Zeeland.
