Tom Boonen (Etixx-Quick Step) and Kenny Dehaes (Wanty-Groupe Gobert) had to resort to using a bus shelter to change after the Ronde van Limburg (UCI 1.1) which took place at the weekend.

The race which took place in rainy conditions was won by Dehaes in a sprint finish ahead of Boonen and Timothy DuPont (Verandas Willems Cycling Team).

Prior to the podium presentation, Boonen and Dehaes had to use the shelter in Tongeren to get changed into their dry clothes.

Apparently, the race organisers had provided a tent for the riders to use after the race, but no chairs.

“Sad, isn’t it,” Boonen told Het Belang van Limburg afterwards. “They know that the day is going to have bad weather and then they put is here in a bus shelter. Oh well …”
