Gemmi Pass is a high mountain pass across the Bernese Alps in Switzerland connecting Leukerbad (on the south) with Kandersteg (on the north). The pass reaches a height of 2,270 metres above sea level and features in the Sherlock Holmes story “The Final Problem.”

This video features Manuel Scheidegger crossing the Wall, which was the path blasted through the rock wall on Gemmi Pass in 1739. The trail is steep, forbidden and rough, but also spectacular. Like Sherlock Holmes, Scheidegger wanted to cross the pass through the wall.

The path is jaw-dropping with some sheer drops, and the scenery looks amazing. Well worth a watch.
